Subject: NEW HEELIFT® TRACTION BOOT

Evanston, IL . . . . .Heelift® Traction Boot, an innovative method for applying skin traction to help stabilize femur fractures prior to surgery, is now available from DM Systems, Inc., makers of Heelift® Suspension Boot and other wound care, orthopedic and rehabilitation products. During the pre-surgical period when the patient lacks the ability to control the leg, Heelift® Traction Boot elevates the leg and offers footdrop and rotational control.

Heelift® Traction Boot provides up to ten pounds straight skin traction for fracture pain relief. When applied to the patient, Heelift® Traction Boot helps prevent heel and lateral malleolar ulcers as well as averting peroneal nerve pressure injury at the fibular head. The product also offers forefoot support to avoid heel cord contracture. The tricot backing provides the full traction benefit with no boot-bed friction. For post-operative use, removing the traction straps, bar and rope converts the product to a Heelift® Smooth Suspension Boot for heel pressure prevention.

Each Heelift® Traction Boot comes complete with the customizable foam boot with fixed elevation pad, a spare pad with adhesive backing, Velcro® side traction straps, removable traction bar and rope. Utilizing the additional pad allows complete customization of the boot for unusual problems.
